The short version

This site uses strictly necessary storage for your language preference and consent choice. With your consent, we also store a first-party campaign attribution entry that records how you reached us, for up to 90 days. When you use the checkout, Paddle sets functional and diagnostic cookies. We do not use advertising cookies, do not share this data with advertisers, and do not track you across other websites. You can accept or reject non-essential storage via the banner.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by a website. They are used to remember information about you between visits, keep you logged in, and help services work correctly. Some cookies are essential for the site to function; others are optional.

Cookies this site sets

The SnapPhonics marketing site (snapphonics.com) stores a small number of first-party entries in your browser. Your language preference and your cookie consent choice are stored in localStorage (not cookies) and are strictly necessary — the first to display the site in your chosen language, the second to remember your consent decision so we do not ask again. With your consent, we additionally store a campaign attribution entry described in the table below. No third party can read any of these entries, and none of them are used for advertising or cross-site tracking.

Entries stored by this site:

Name Purpose Duration Category
sp_locale Remembers the language you selected so the site displays in it on your next visit. Persistent (until cleared) Strictly necessary
sp_cookie_consent Records whether you accepted or rejected non-essential storage, so the banner is not shown again. 12 months Strictly necessary
sp_attribution Records how you reached us — the referring website, any campaign (UTM) parameters in the link you followed, and the page you first landed on — so that if you sign up later we can attribute your signup to the right channel. First-party only; never read by a third party, never used for advertising. 90 days Analytics — consent required

The campaign attribution entry (sp_attribution) is written only after you accept non-essential storage in the consent banner. If you reject, or ignore the banner, it is never written, and any existing copy is removed. Rejecting has no effect on your ability to use the site or create an account.

Cookies the SnapPhonics app sets

The SnapPhonics app (app.snapphonics.com) uses the following cookies, all of which are strictly necessary for authentication and are exempt from consent requirements:

Cookie Purpose Duration Category
sb-[project]-auth-token Stores your session access token so you stay logged in. Session / persistent (until sign-out) Strictly necessary
sb-[project]-auth-token-code-verifier Used during login to verify the authentication flow (PKCE security). Session Strictly necessary
sb-[project]-auth-token.0 / .1 Splits the session token across multiple cookies if it is too large for one. Session / persistent (until sign-out) Strictly necessary

All app cookies are HttpOnly (not accessible to JavaScript) and Secure (HTTPS only). No third-party cookies are set by the app.

Cookies set by Paddle (our payment partner)

When you proceed to checkout, Paddle — our payment partner and Merchant of Record — may set the following cookies. Strictly necessary Paddle cookies are exempt from consent. Performance cookies require your consent before they are loaded.

Cookie type Category Purpose Consent required?
Checkout / session Strictly necessary Maintains the state of the checkout (items, progress) as you navigate. No — exempt
Security / fraud prevention Strictly necessary Authenticates users and prevents fraudulent login or payment attempts. No — exempt
Analytics / diagnostics Performance Internal diagnostics used by Paddle to identify unique user journeys and improve their platform. Data is not shared externally. Yes

For full details of the cookies Paddle sets, see Paddle's privacy policy at . paddle.com/legal/privacy.

Your choices

You can accept or reject non-essential storage using the banner that appears when you first visit this site. Your choice is remembered in your browser for 12 months (sp_cookie_consent). You can change your preference at any time by clearing your browser localStorage and cookies and revisiting the site.

Rejecting non-essential storage means the campaign attribution entry (sp_attribution) is not written and Paddle diagnostic cookies are not loaded at checkout. Strictly necessary items — your language preference, your consent choice, app authentication, and the checkout session and security cookies — are still set, as they are required for the site, your account, and the payment process to function.

Users in the Republic of Korea

Korea's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization require your prior, explicit consent before any non-essential information is stored on or read from your device. If you are in Korea, the campaign attribution entry is written only after you give that separate consent, and it is requested on its own rather than bundled into your acceptance of our Terms or Privacy Policy. You may decline or later withdraw it without any effect on your use of SnapPhonics.

How to manage cookies in your browser

You can also control cookies directly through your browser settings. Note that blocking all cookies may prevent parts of the checkout from working correctly.

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the date at the top of this page.
